Alteria, located centrally next to Tarsys on the mainland, is a beautiful land of rolling hills, sweeping plains, and lush forests. Alteria is the forefront of civilization and progress in Allorys, holding learning and politics in the highest regards. In Alteria, a stonemason can be looked at higher than a soldier, his work representing progress and stability, while the soldier is seen as a necessary tool to keep what has been built. This is not to say that Alteria is lacking in military might. The Alterian legion is one of the most powerful armies in the world. Known for being highly disciplined, well trained, and well equipped, the Legion is always ready to defend Alteria and it’s ideals. Being centered around knowledge also means Alteria boasts a relatively high number of mages compared to other nations. Rich in cropland and orchard alike, Alteria’s major exports are foodstuffs as well as crafts. Alterian apple wine is particularly prized in foreign locals. Alteria is comprised of several fiefdoms, each lead by a duke, either appointed by the crown, or born into the role. Alteria’s king, Sir Gaius Aleran, is a noble man of noble birth. Fair and just, he leads his people to the future with hope and prosperity. His brother, the former king Calvus, was assassinated a few years ago, leaving Alteria in a panicked uproar. Gaius quickly stepped up and assured the people, using both the legion and his considerable political ties to bring his brothers murderers to justice. Alterian folk are a hardy lot, generally good spirited and welcoming. The hard working alterians belive that a good days work makes for a brighter tomorrow.
“Alteria is the pillar which holds highest those ideals lesser nations squander.” -Varro Dalrun, Knight of the Alterian Legion
